Betty Ann was a 1961 graduate of Tennyson High School, in Hayward, Ca.  She went on to graduate from San Jose State with a degree in English and Art and then moved on to receive her law degree from University of Santa Clara.  Betty Ann taught English overseas for close to a decade and began her career of practicing law in Washington D.C. and culminate at Seagate in Scotts Valley.

Betty Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, daughter and friend.  She loved creating art, traveling, walks at West Cliff and Wilder, reading, lighting a living room full of candles and spending time with the people she loved.

She is survived by her grandkids, Griffin and Kira Cascarino and is predeceased by her son, Jeffery Warren Smith.  The world will be lesser place without you in it.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m, at Mackenzie Bar and Grill at Pasatiempo.  The family invites Betty Ann's friends to come and celebrate her life and requests that instead of flowers, a donation be made in her name to the Heifer International Foundation or Santa Cruz Art League.
