Raymond_Zupan Raymond 'Rocky' Zupan age 51 of Belle Fourche, died Thursday August 24th, 2006 at his home in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Spearfish, South Dakota, with Pastor Dan Kent officiating.  Inturnment will be held in the Black Hills National Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  Arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.

Raymond 'Rocky' Zupan was born March 3, 1955 in Yellowstone County, Montana.  He was the son of Robert and Esther (Baker) Zupan.  At a young age, Rocky moved with his family to Willits, California and later Hayward, California.  In 1972 at the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Navy and served his country in Vietnam where he was held as a Prisoner of War for 8 months.  After receiving a honorable discharge in 1975, he settled in Vallejo, California where he owned and operated his own business, repairing and selling washing machines.

In 1978, Rocky began a second term of service in the U.S. Navy and served an additional 2 years.  In 1980 he started his career driving trucks and lived in Prescott, Arizona.  A service connected disability forced him to retire in 1999 when he moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where he worked at Cenex.  In 2001 he moved to Belle Fourche, South Dakota and he worked in Rapid City. South Dakota at Cenex.  From 2002 to 2004 he worked at Sears in Spearfish.  For the past 5 years, Rocky has lived with his brother Zackary and his wife in Belle Fourche.

Rocky will be remembered for being a kind-hearted man, who would do anything for anybody.  He was a good man, a hard worker, and he loved people.  He will be greatly missed.

Rocky is survived by 2 sons, Vern and Robert Zupan, both of Arizona; daughters, Tessa Zupan of Randle WA, Jen Zupan of Prescott AZ; granddaughter, Lily Zupan; brothers, Zackary (Melodey) Zupan of Belle Fourche,South Dakota and Jerry (Debra) Zupan of Rogers AK; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sherrie Gotterba; and brother, Delray Zupan.
